About Our Provider

Dr. Andrew Gordon is a board-certified general surgeon at MetroWest Physician Services. His clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery with a focus on robotic surgery, hernia repair including complex abdominal wall reconstruction, colon resection (for cancer or diverticulitis), gallbladder disease, skin and soft tissue lesions, as well as everything else in the realm of general surgery.

Dr. Gordon is originally from Boston but grew up for the most part in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. He received his medical degree locally from Tufts University School of Medicine. From there, he says that it was the breadth of surgical training offered at the University of South Florida, the Tampa Bay metropolitan area’s only allopathic general surgery residency program, which drew him south and to which he credits his well-rounded skill set today.

Most recently and for the last two and a half years, Dr. Gordon has been a member of a busy and well-established general surgery practice in Northern Virginia, operating out of three community hospitals there. He says he could not pass up the opportunity, when it presented itself, to return to this region where he has strong family roots and what he has always considered “home.”

Dr. Gordon is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association. He holds a certificate in robotic surgery from the University of South Florida.

Dr. Gordon welcomes appointment requests from new and established patients alike, and is always available for questions and consultation requests from his medical colleagues.
