About the Provider

Kaitlyn Fishman, DNP, NP-BC, is a board certified adult nurse practitioner at the MetroWest Cancer Care Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she also worked as an EMT. In her position in oncology research at Massachusetts General Hospital, Kaitlyn realized how much she loved interacting with patients and pursued a career as a nurse practitioner. Kaitlyn was trained as a nurse and nurse practitioner at the University of Massachusetts Medical School where she obtained her master’s and doctorate degrees with a concentration in oncology. She was trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital as an inpatient oncology nurse and continued on to work as an outpatient oncology nurse at Mount Auburn Hospital.

Kaitlyn’s clinical interests lie in palliative care, LGBTQ+, and adolescents and young adults with cancer. “I think it’s not only important to partner with my patients during their healthcare journey, but also to treat them with the respect, dignity, and empathy they deserve especially during such a sensitive time in life.”

When not working, Kaitlyn enjoys skiing, volunteering, learning, and hiking with her dog.
